Despite the call back to an old Led Zeppelin song, Realtime Gaming’s (RTG) Hairway to Heaven is actually based on the Brothers Grimm tale, Rapunzel. The progressive slot game offers US players the chance to win big real money prizes while living through a wonderful classic fairy-tale. Read on to find out more about the game down below.
Gameplay and Design
Hairway to Heaven is a five-reel progressive slot game with a total of three rows and 50 paylines. Although the game was released in 2012, its graphics seem somewhat dated despite being a bit colorful. Stylistically, the art is very reminiscent of an old fairytale book illustrated by artists in post-war Britain.
The game’s symbols are made up of the classic combination of playing card designs and objects that relate to the theme. Some symbols inspired by the theme include a key, a mirror and brush, a tower with a rainbow outside of it, a shield and a guard, among others. The game does feature a wild symbol, which is the princess looking figure that we assume to be Rapunzel. There is also a scatter symbol, which is the smiling prince that seems to be there to safe the poor princess from a life of isolation.
Hairway to Heaven features one major bonus mode. This is the Damsels in Distress feature. Players activate it by landing three or more scatters anywhere on the reels. They will then win eight free spins. It is possible to retrigger it and it’s important to note that wild symbol that appear on the reels add extra free spins up to a max of 20. All combinations completed with a wild will be subject to a x3 multiplier.
